Transition into Fall
Gopher habits and activity will change as we transition from summer to fall in the North State. Our seasonal changes are fairly moderate, but the home range of these critters will change.
Intensified Foraging: As our mornings and evenings begin to cool, gophers will change their feeding habits. Their primary goal transitions to foraging to sustain them through winter. This increase in activity can lead to increased damage to fall/winter gardens, landscapes and lawns.
Tunnel Expansion: Fall sees a surge in gopher burrowing. They will extend their existing tunnels in an effort to find new food sources. This leads to damage in new areas compared to the recent summer months. We often see activity and damaged areas that we have not seen in the summer months.
As our season changes, gopher activity and damage can differ vasty from the recent summer months. Our customers will see activity in new areas as gophers expand their summer range in an effort to find new food sources. This seasonal shift often requires a gopher control strategy to mitigate damage to new areas. Norcal Trapping offers a control strategy that is nontoxic and safe for customers, pets and the environment.
Norcal Trapping offers gopher control to Chico, Durham and Paradise weekly. Give us a call to day to hop on our schedule. Our trapping strategy typically takes 1-4 weeks to eliminate the problem.
